Superstar Rajinikanth’s Kabali – Movie Review
The expectations are always at its peak and beyond any film limits whenever a Rajinikanth movie is released. Superstar and crowd-puller Rajinikanth’s Kabali is the latest one hitting the theaters worldwide today.
The movie is definitely a treat for Rajinikanth fans and every single one of them can surely say that their film was worth their money and time. The film is also worthy of watching for even those of the superstar’s criticizers who wants to make fun of the aged superstar going through his speed and styles.
The events of the movie take place in Malaysia at a time when Tamil people are treated very badly and harshly. It was a desperate time for them and with the need for a Messiah to save them from their brutal sufferings.
The action sets to unfold when the superstar Rajinikanth enters the ‘battle’ as their savior. The super star’s character in the movie had already spend many years in the jail for fighting racism. Even though the character decides and try to live a normal life after getting released from the prison, circumstances compel him to become a gangster when his daughter was abducted and he had to rescue her.
The actions and the resulting sequence pushes him to become the leader of Tamils/Dalits people in Malaysia.
The film is carefully twined with all the usual and necessary ingredients to satisfy the craving of any Rajinikanth fan. The punch dialogs, stylish poses and slow motion walks present in the movie are all set for a huge uproar inside the theater.
The movie even has scenes of young Rajinikanth which is very well crafted and will definitely give a feeling to nostalgia for his fans. You may also feel that some of the scenes are like re-enacted scenes of the superstar’s previous blockbusters.
The movie can give a feeling of artificiality for a casual cinema viewer. One of the main factor for this is of course the fact that the 65 yr old hero trying to act as a 30 yr old with a considerable proportion of makeup. The film could have also been more better portraying the ill-treatment of the Malaysian Tamils.
Radhika Apte has done well in her role as Dhansika. There is also a surprise cameo from an unexpected character in the movie.
Overall, the movie is a good one for a casual cinema goer who don’t have much expectations.
